Thanksgiving weekend

Hello! We are ignoring thanksgiving - not terrifically pc after all. However, I have made PIE - complete with filo pastry and filling! It is currently waiting for Mr H to get home from work and we'll chow down.
I think we may have got the days slightly wrong on the last few posts - it is what happens when you are A) unemployed or B) working uneven days! We have had a good long weekend as today is turkey day, so most people have the day off (except Adam, grumble grumble). I did do a nice thing and surprise Adam at work, to let him know that I was making a yummy dinner. We had a long walking day on Saturday, as we walked miles and miles and miles between shops. On a saturday! Absurd! We had some successes, as I now have a rather smashing new coat for the winter. (And some gloves I picked up today.)
**Brief pause while I discovered that I'd overcooked the potatoes. Nevermind - mashed potatoes they now are!
Sunday was a good day - we got up to go and watch our housemate's Ice Hockey game - Kaos vs Nighthawks. We (Kaos) won! And our housemate played really well. (Was glad to have new coat as it was freeeezing.) We went to QE park in the afternoon, wandered around and played with Adam's hackysack. I also took lots of pics of the neighbourhood, following a request.

Daisy went to the park on a Wednesday

I wandered to Queen Elizabeth park on wednesday afternoon. It is on a hill, so has a smashing view from the top. There's a big bubble-shaped conservatory, and a big fountain with a Henry Moore sculpture and some gorgeous formal gardens which form the Aboretum. They also have a 'celebration pavilion', which is circular, and used for weddings and things, and they have big doors on the back that open out to a platform. All very nice and well-cared for. Not a bad way to spend an hour on a weekday!

We went to the park on a Thursday

We spent yesterday afternoon at Stanley Park with a friend from Adam's work. We had a jolly good giggle. I finally saw a racoon (!) and we also saw a seal eating kelp. We had ENORMOUS ice creams. The lions at the bridge had pink ribbon garlands - previously they had autumn colour flower garlands. It was nice being out after dark (7.30pm) and not worrying about how to get home!

Well, we've moved - the new, very nice area is much closer to downtown and is between two long main roads, with lots of shops and bars and lively stuff happening. 23 minutes for Adam to cycle to work. I'm not currently working (boo) but having done a lot since we arrived, it is nice to have a bit of a break. I'm planning on a wander over to a park nearby in a bit.

My three weeks work has ended, Adam is happy as larry with new icebreaker and smartwool purchases (as am I), and we'll be changing living location on Monday. Looking forward to lie in tomorrow! Night night all,
